Hey, just heard about you from the KNITFreedom interview. I’m sad that I haven’t heard of you sooner!
Liat from KNITfreedom sent me. Thanks for your words of wisdom to new designers..”don’t rush”. I needed to hear that!
Hi Jared, I am new to knitting and am loving finding all the adventures into the different yarns. I am really excited about finding your site!! Beautiful about sums it up!!
Loved the interview with Liat! I really enjoy your patterns, having made the rock away sweater ( which turned out perfect and I love it!), the hemlock ring blanket and the grove mittens! I have more that I plan on making as well! Your designs are great! Thanks so much for sharing them!
Will you post your impressions of knitting with the metal yarns? I’ve seen them and I am SOO curious!
And thanks to some commenters here, I realized there was an interview somewhere else! What a great interview, and I’m so excited for you to be getting so much good press! Congratulations!
Love the look of your designs, have only made one, so far of them.. but glad to see you are getting finally recognized for all your hard work and lovely creative design work.
Great interview with Knitfreedom. I am a new knitter and have become obsessed with everything knitting….love your patterns and yarns. Your photos are fantastic!!! I will following your blog from now on. Thanks for the chance to win!!
Psssst, Liat sent me!
No wonder she loves your work.
loved your blog.
I enjoyed reading the interview on Liatt’s blog.
I came here not quite sure what to expect from this site but I am now a convert! I love your photography! I love the colours of yarn that you carry. Now if I could just have enough money to buy a bit of it, I’d be in heaven!
It’s also very very very nice to see a company use local supplies, as in local sheep farms and local processors. That is the basis for creating a sustainable environment for people to have work and lives they can be proud of. Keep up the great work!

Liat at KNITFreedom sent me! This has been an enjoyable evening reading your blog and looking over all the wonderful patterns. Koolhaas is a brilliant pattern and knits up beautifully with Cape Cod Fiber’s Lobster Pot Cashmere (the best for the best).
The colours of the Habu textiles is enough to keep a creative person awake at night!! SO lovely, delicious mmm
Jared, I have followed your work for years. It is exquisite and now, so are your yarns. Your beautiful photography shows off your lovely handwork so well. I enjoyed your interview with Liat. Thank you for the opportunity to win these patterns. They are all beautiful and Juneberry Triangle is gorgeous. Keep doing what you love so that we can all be inspired!
Your interview on Knit Freedom was outstanding – as are all your beautiful designs. Plus, you’re like Dick Clark, never aging!
Gorgeous! Love the color palette.
I bought a couple of your patterns but it never occurred to me that you would have a blog. Duh!! KNITfreedom’s interview of you sent me here and I’m so glad.
Yarns made with metal? How cool is that?! First it was metal-edged ribbon; now it’s in yarn. And the colors in your pictures…I mean, wow! I checked out Habu’s site and the options seem to be endless. I’m looking forward to what you can do with both the yarns and the colors.
Just saw the article about you on knittfreedom. I have followed your blog for awhile now and love it. I also love the Shelter that I have purchased. Need to add some Loft soon!
Just heard about you from Liat Gat’s KnitFreedom email. W O W is all I can say. Page after page of pure artisan beauty. Wow.
Inspirational — makes my needles itch!
When I joined Raverly, your project page was one of the first I viewed. I was amazed with the work done and it can been seen in each photo that knitting was done with love and pleasure. It was great to read your interview at KNITFreedom.
I love the cones of fiber, but I also love the photos of the railway station, too!

I was sent to this blog via Liat of KnitFreedom, but I already have a couple of your patterns. I have to admit that I have made 3 Turn A Square Hats – 2 were for my Husband, the first time he has ever asked me to knit anything for him
. I love that pattern!
Thank you,
Just found out about you from Liat. My daughters live in Brooklyn and trying to get them to knit again. Sent them your site. Photography and knitting…..doesn’t get any better!

I have been a fan of your work for a long time. I confess that when I first found you, I thought, “Nobody could keep coming up with patterns this unique.” I was wrong. You just keep getting better.
And now the yarns. . . ! W-o-w. Your colors are truly dynamite!
Loved the KnitFreedom interview with Liat!
Loved the interview at Liat – new to knitting – you definitely rock!:)
Gorgeous photographs and inspiration for new projects!!! Now adding your blog to my bloglist!

Love your blog, and loved the interview with Liat at KNITfreedom. (She says “Hi”.) Your wonderful sense of color and your “eye” in your photos and yarn palettes are a treat. Thanks for sharing your creative spirit.
Cheers.
I’m so with you on the inspirational qualities of Habu Textiles. I love, love, love the copper and stainless steel.
I too enjoyed the interview with Liat. Thanks for the inspiration!
So fun to discover two wonderful sources. You and Habu. Got the link from KNITFreedom.
Jared, I enjoyed reading your interview at KnitFreedom. I’ve recently had the pleasure of knitting with LOFT and it was wonderful. Now if only I could knit faster so I can buy more yarn and knit all the wonderful Brooklyn Tweed patterns in my queue!
I treated myself to 2 hanks of Loft this past weekend while visiting NYC. Cast on my Norby hat in the hotel that evening. Thanks for creating these fabulous tweedy yarns!
I love Habu! I was in their Avril store in Tokyo at least once a month for the year that I lived there, and I went to the one in Kyoto too when I had the chance. Nothing makes you feel more welcome and at home in a place you never feel like you belong than yarn and yarn people!
Liat from KNITfreedom sent me. Thanks for the opportunity to win some of your patterns. I already own your Rock Island shawl, lovely!
You are one of all-time favorite designers. Since I am also a photographer, I also admire your photography very much. The eye for the photography is reflected in the beauty of your designs.
Hi Jared,
I love the vivid pictures & detailed information here. I am relatively new to knitting, and still getting my kinks out. I usually have 2-3 projects going at once, and i love specialty & unusual yarns and patterns.
Thanks for your awesome designs & blog!!
Jeanne
I love your designs and your artistic sensibility. My 16 year old son has also taken note and I hope that one day he will pick up the needles. Whenever I get back from a knitting event he always asks whether I got to meet you.
I was reading about how you got started and was really excited about your photography background. I’m strictly beginner wanting to learn more. I have 2 nieces that are photographers and I told them how you started. Keep inspiring.
Many thanks to Liat of KnitFreedom for sharing the great interview she did with you. It was truly interesting and inspiring! Thanks, too, for the opportunity you and she are offering to win some of your beautiful patterns! I am very happy to have been introduced to you and Brooklyn Tweed. The great yarns in this post are just wonderful!
