Nice to see more about the man behind the designs! Just popped over from kntifreedom!
Made, I think, four of your designs so far! Keep up the beautiful work.
Very good interview with Liat. Your talent is endless and I look forward to seeing more and more designs in the future. Your use of color and texture are inspiring. Congratulations on your new yarns and books.
Liat at KNITFreedom DID not send me here! I did love the write up she did at http://knitfreedom.com/celebrity-interview/jared-flood. But I was already subscribed to your RSS feed, because you ROCK!
I liked your interview with Liat at KNITFreedom. I am interested in how it is to knit with metal.
Great interview with Liat.
I got a little cone of the stainless steel yarn in a lovely steel gray color years ago when I stopped by Habu with a friend while visiting NYC, and I have been so precious with it, it is still just waiting in my stash! I think it may become some interesting cuff ruffles or something along those lines, eventually.
Liat sent me over to see your Blog…..ah, such beautiful, subtle colors on the cones…..Your photos always make me think of how I can improve upon my own photos….beautiful work.
Beautiful site beautiful articles!
Hi Jared Flood,
I had never heard of U before I read your interview with Liat… lots of good information there, I do love the copper fiber, how sweet! What a beautiful site you have.
ps Liat at KNITFreedom sent me.
Wow! Liat was right. You, your work and the work of your team is truly inspiring to me. I love it all! Also, as one photographer to another…you have some amazing photography skills as well. I wish I had found about your blog sooner but “it will” go among my bookmarks on my tablet and computer!
Keep the good work!
I love the yarns. Thank you for doing the interview with Liat. It gave me a different perspective on yarns.
Oh, I can hardly wait to see how you are inspired by these gorgeous cones from Habu!
I just finished your interview @ Liat & truly enjoyed it, as I have all of your designs…keep up the great work!
Love your designs and yarn.
Hi, my name is Linda and I’m an Italian devoted knitter… and I really wish that someone around here had the passion, intuition, delicacy and natural taste that you display in your projects.

This blog is both inspirational and nurturing.
Thank you for all this beauty!
I found you from Liat over at knitfreedom.com… I love your shelter and loft yarns! I’m always looking for new yarns to work with
I love your wool, patterns, NYC and NJ railway station. Colors of wool most lovely.
KnitFreedom shared your info and story with us. Loved that your yarns are from historic yarn mills in the USA. I am very interested in these places since I lived near Barlett Yarns in Maine, another historic yarn mill
Lynn
Yarns made from paper, stainless steel, silk, wool and copper!
I will now look around my world and wonder, “What color yarn will this create?” Thank you!
Love the new patterns and Wool People 2. I’ve been lurking here for a long time and longing to knit more of your patterns. KnitFreedom got me to leave a comment!
I love the traditional feel of your designs – curious to see how you’d use Habu’s nontraditional materials. I’m sure the results will be fantastic!
Those colors are stunning. I am a new knitter but have heard your name often and have bought a few patterns- haven’t started them yet -but they will be on the needle soon!
Read the interview at KnitFreedom. Very cool and I look forward to trying your yarns…gorgeous colors. I too am a photographer.
Was sent to the blog from Liat’s newsletter. Boy am I glad I checked it out. Just recently became a fan of your work and had never checked out the blog till today. Thanks for your great designs that are clever and fun to knit.
Thanks for givving the interview at Knitfreedom. I’m going to check out your yarns and patterns now!
Hey, Jared…Liat sent me!
I feel connected today. Harrisville is special to me since I owned two of their looms and have visited their picturesque mill in N.H. Their fibers are fabulous so now I can be confident in your yarns!
Coincidentally , I’m just finishing up my second Koolhaas hat!. I love your pattern, it looks good on everyone! Keep more like that coming!
Wonderful interview on Knit Freedom. I was on the Alaska Cruise in Sept. and have been knitting for charity ever since. I got the Square in a round hat pattern recently and have been making and giving them to local folks who need warm clothes etc. I have shared some of your ” insider” tips tht you shared on the trip and making knitting much more user friendly for my group – thanks for the US made yarn – it makes a difference! Haven’t found the Loft yet, but it is next on my list.
Hi Jared,
Liat sent me but I am a regular on your site. Loved the interview and of course your yarns and patterns.
Same with me. I read Liat’s interview, but am also a silent lurker at your site. Love your patterns and love your wool. I even recently made a pilgrimage to Harrisville Designs because of you.
Liat at KNITfreedom.com connected me to your site, Jared. The magnificent hues of your LOFT yarns are so inviting and yummy. Congratulations on taking the bold step to help keep some American mills at the forefront of fiber technology and good luck for success.
Wow Jared. . . I had heard about Brooklyn Tweed, since I am an avid supporter of local/US made items- always looking for ways to support our economy and skills.
I have to admit that I have never seen any of your designs until this interview you had with interweave. I am quite impressed and look forward to trying some of the patterns. . . my DH loves hats and the Koolhaas is right up his alley.
I am glad that your friend from school reignited your motivation to play with knitting. . .being an Oregonion, I have to say it has nothing to do with being “rural” and nothing to do- it has more to do with the creations. . . you can go all over Portland and see people traveling with there knitting- on the bus/train/coffee houses, etc. . it’s truly a fun and unique city that prides homegrown goods.
I look forward to seeing your new colors and discovering your patterns. Best of luck to you for your future endeavors – and THANK YOU for all of your hard work. I look forward to doing business with Brooklyn Tweed and checking out your wool. . .
Jared: I have followed your career for many years. I loved your first book book, “It Itches”, and I have followed your blog Panopticon for a very long time. I love it! I am very happy you are designing yarn and making in the good old USA with US produced wool!
Keep up the great work teaching, designing, and blogging, I look forward to more, more, more……..
Liatris sent me but only because her blog is listed first! Love yor patterns and adore your Shelter yarn. The shawl I made with it is especially lovely!
Liat at KNITFreedom sent me over but I’ve always loved your patterns, photos and blog!
Just want to let you know how much I love your work! I’m new to knitting and hope to be able to master some of your designs someday.
Ann
Saw your interview in KnitFreedom. Put me in the draw, plz….
Liat sent me too!
Great blog….love your patterns!
Hi Jared…I was sent here by Liat….oh my gosh, I love the yarn….the designs….I like knitting in natural wool…just feels good to me. I sure wish i could have a little bit of that stash of wool…beautiful designs also….
So here you are… and you are even more inspiring than your patterns! ‘Wool People!’ Bring It! Keep humming this creative wool song over your life and the world will thank you. My earthly hero was a living legend in the land of wool revolutionizing its course in history… Cheers to you mate for picking up the baton! Now back to Liat…
P.S. My hero was Ivan Bowen with his brother Godfrey. His Motto: ‘Get Fleeced! Wool… nature’s perfect clothing!’ He was my grandad – the inventor of today’s shearing and 5 times world record holder.
I’m a subscriber to your blog, but just finished reading your interview on the knitfreedom page. It was really great to read about your process and development as a designer. I’m always excited to see your next work!
Liat from KnitFreedom sent me, but I was already a reader of your blog
Oh I would love to win, I’m a big fan!
(goodstuff on Rav)
Hope to see you again next time you are in Harrisville. Love your patterns. Liked the interview as well!
You have some nice yarn and some really nice designs.
I’ve just heard of your interview, and there are hundreds of comments already! I’ve always liked your designs, and you have such a wonderful and refreshing sense of colour! Love the new line of yarns.
Not gonna lie, I’m here for the chance to win some free patterns.
However, I am also a big fan of your work. The knitting world needs more modern classic patterns and yarns, and you fill that void. Keep making the world a little warmer and a little more stylish.

Liat at Knitfreedom sent me! I love, love, love the Guernsey Wrap. The texture is beautiful.
I’m a huge fan! Everything from your woolen spun, american made yarns to your ever expanding patterns and books. Inspirational!
Loved your interview with Liat. And now I’m connected with your blog also. So many blogs — so little time (left to knit!).
I found the interview on KnitFreedom very informative, I love learning about how yarn is made and the different processes involved. I also like a lot of your patterns and I am sure I’ll be knitting one or two of them sometime this year.
Enjoyed your interview with KNITfreedom. Always have enjoyed your blog.
What a great suprise to read your interview at KnitFreedom today. I have drooled over your yarn and have been following your patterns for years. Thank you for sharing yourself with all of us!
I found your site several years ago when someone mentioned you on their blog, and I loved the way you had photographed the Hemlock Ring blanket. I bought your first book to make a Quincy hat and am now working on a Willoughby scarf. Came here today after reading the interview with Liat. I absolutely love your commitment to produce a totally made-in-America line of yarn and hope to purchase some Loft soon. Thanks for offering the giveaway patterns!
