A short post on this Monday morning to offer some visual inspiration at the beginning of your week.

It’s been more than 2 years since the release of Girasole and it’s been one of my favorite projects to watch during that time. There have been so many beautiful versions that I’ve seen in my travels and on Ravelry in so many different yarn weights, colors and fiber blends – what a completely special experience that has been.

So revisiting this pattern recently at BT Headquarters has been deeply satisfying. This version was knit with 12 skeins of Shelter in our Hayloft colorway. I love how the piece turned out. Same size as the original, but lighter-weight and with a slightly lacier quality.

I shot the new version in snowy Harrisville on my last trip up there. Such a wonderful location for a photoshoot.

Here’s wishing you a great start to your week!
Resources: The Girasole pattern is available here or here. Yarn is available here.
This is one of my favorites of all your designs… planning to use plant dyes to get something close to your sunny yellow and make one of my own.
I do love the mustard color. And lace, well I love it, but trying to do it fries my brain.
This is one of my favorites as well. The pattern was a JOY to knit, and so well written ;o). My plan this spring will be to knot up another!
Beautiful! I was lucky enough to visit Austin for spring break, and made sure to stop in at Hill Country Weavers (what a great shop!) to pick up a skein of Shelter. I chose the color Woodsmoke and plan to make my second Habitat (this time for me!) with it. Thanks for making such lovely yarn!
Love it… especially the shot of it draped over a sawhorse in a construction zone
One of my favorite shawls to look at, and I do have it on my very long list of projects to get to one day. This one is particularly lovely. Fantastic photos, too!
Absolutely beautiful…makes me want to cast on for one. Fabulous photos too. Thanks for sharing ;D
As if I don’t have enough projects on my needles already—sheesh! Perhaps, though, I should finish up my Wool Leaves before I cast-on for this?!
As always, beautiful and inspiring! Thanks!
I am looking forward to making this beautiful piece. However, I have difficulty seeing graphs with my trifocals. Has anyone ever written the pattern out? Is it available?– thanks
I love Girasole, have done 2 so far: one in Love Alpaca and one in Kauni 2 ply wool, both different and both lovely. This is a pattern I will return to again and again – the Shelter is sooo tempting…
Wow ! I have loved this pattern since its release, longed to knit it, but somehow never quite got around to it … you have inspired me to get going with it this spring. And the yarn colour is just perfect.
Btw, is anyone in the UK selling your Shelter yarns?
Tres bon!
Love it and the pictures of it. Thanks!
This is just gorgeous! I love the golden colorway
So pretty! I can’t believe it’s made of worsted weight yarn! I looks so airy….
That’s downright gorgeous, and so perfect for early spring. Great pattern and perfect color choice!
This was my first lace project and I have made 3 of them so far.
I love the pattern.
This pattern has made me a fan of all your “works of Art.”
Thanks for making all your patterns do-able.
WOW! Beautiful! I need to get some other projects done so I can make this!
Beautiful and sunny!
Stunning. Wow. Love it!
Tanya
Gorgeous! I already have the pattern printed, yarn purchased in a very similar color (but a washable yarn — 2 and 5 year olds in the house!) now I just need the time!
